Yes & no, VistaBill; this is the third time in 2 year they’ve re-run from this point: I think they only have a fraction of the total output, so they’re having to repeat them all the time. 8 or 9 years ago they ran a very long series of later strips (going by Daisy-Mae’s hairstyle), and I don’t recall this lot then.

Well, I’m a late arrival at the Lil Abner Go Comics archives and frankly I’ve never seen a LA strip of this vintage. I was around in the late 50’s-60’s to read them in the Sunday paper.

I’ve got about fifteen years worth of reprints I can go thru rather than get the same ones here all the time.

Abner sure looks young in this strip. Must be fom way back there in the ’30s.

BTW, the pig survived NYC. A nice old man had his Hammus Alabamus meal, but it was NOT dear Salomy. As I recall, the porcine gentleman who brought her to New York was Shanghaied into a nearby kitchen and converted to a Hammus Alabamus with all the trimmings meal (Long Pork) for the rich elderly gentleman who never new the difference.Salomy returned to Dog Patch with her family and lived happily ever after.

When the strip was on comics.com, it did run longer at one time. I remember Daisy Mae and Abner’s wedding, the arrival of Honest Abe and the discovery of Abner’s “little” brother.
