I’ve heard that cops are more into bagels now. But seriously, the reason that cops traditionally hang out in doughnut shops is because it’s one of the few places you can get coffee at 3 AM.

I don’t begrudge cops their coffee – which is what they’re usually getting at the doughnut shop. Police work can be a lot of tedium mixed with a lot of stress.
