This illustrates how psychiatry is about being focused on the self. In Heaven, existence is about praising and loving God,not the “me” so there is no need for self-centered dialogue. God illustration, Wiley.

How did HE get there? and I don’t see many lawyers, either.Or is he a man who successfully completed self-analysis…all his inner beings safely converted to angels? maybe a metaphor for the dead end for a capable successful therapist…they’re all healed, everybody he knows, his patients…are HEALED. What a joke success turned out to be: nothing to do. Worked himself out of a job.

And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, (forever) saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, the four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. That’s a whole lotta praise! I mean, for eternity? And it never gets old? Well, I suppose a psychiatrist can ponder over the definition of narcissistic personality disorder in the DSM, and whether it applies to an omnipotent, omnipresent, multiple personality disorder truine being…

Whenever I see the traditional image of an angel, I regret that not everyone has read Twain’s story of Captain Stormfield’s trip to Heaven… After a slight mishap that leads him to the Heaven of seven-headed, one-legged aliens (Yes, Twain wrote SF!), and a run-in with Heaven’s bureaucracy (well, you could have just wished yourself where you belonged- why didn’t you think of that!) he finally ends up in ours… and can’t STAND the place!
