sighsNot everyone is Christian in the US. We’re supposed to be tolerant of other people’s religion, not shove theirs down other people’s throats.

Speaking of not shoving religon onto others. Read up on Dar-al-Islam vs Dar-al-Harb.

@KetiraThis is shoving it down other people’s throats? I’m agnostic and it doesn’t seem to be shoved down my throat as I don’t have to read it. Get a life you poor soul.

@zoidknightI’ve never heard of Sharia Law allowing anyone in the US to get away with murder. Thank you for pointing out Christianity’s tolerance, the religious right excepted.

A certain mega oil company has a series of commercials that point out that kids in the US scored 25th in the world in math and 17th in the world in science on standardized tests. I think it is because of anti-science religious crazies.

conservative christians always say that they are being persercuted. really? their church are tax exempt, they have observed paid holidays that everyone uses either for religious or non-religious reasons. their deity is on the currency and national symbols and oaths. so, they should be grateful that they get all these benefits and being persecuted like in sudan or saudi arabia

If all you non-believers are so offended, why do you continually look at items by Varvel. Let those of us that enjoy his work live in peace!

Why are atheists so afraid of christianity? I wonder this everyday. If you don’t believe in something, why does it bother you so much. It’s like hatred and fear aimed at the Easter bunny or Santa Claus. I guess I will never understand.

Teachers like Eyrx and scientists like Stephen Runnels know the damage religious home schooling does to young minds. I myself see appalling ignorance in our church in regard to basic math and science. It is one thing to preach the gospel, and quite another to ruin the spirit and quest for knowledge just to keep you story straight with you understanding of the bible. We really shouldn’t do that.

thank you Gary Varvel, for this unobtrusive reminder of the Resurrection Sunday of the world’s largest “religion”.-the miracle of Jesus’ foretold death for atonement of mankind’s sin and His resurrection, which was Victory over death and sin and hell and Satan, is the foundation of the Bible Gospel which is found throughout all 66 books, 64 written by God’s Chosen People the Jews and 2 books witten by the Gentile believer Luke. After His resurrection, Jesus was seen by many, which changed terrified disciples into unafraid to defy authority to preach the Gospel and grow the newborn Jewish Church.-a human with normal IQ has to be very stubborn to deny the scripture records and evidence of the truth of the Bible record.-But I pray that public expressions of Faith like Varvel’s ‘toon will spark interest in those who want to learn about God and His plans for earth and eternity and about His free gift of Salvation in Jesus’ name.

“So why does the tone of your comment suggest you just may be intolerant of Christians?”Maybe because of way “christians” like Santorum and others are so intolerant of women’s rights.

7 states where it is against the law for an atheist to hold public office. Just a frendly FYI to the “oppressed” christiansAlso, why does jesus’s birth fall on the same day every year, but his death is on a different day?

I was given a pretty hard time in school because I wouldn’t say the Lord’s Prayer. This was just one of many differences between me and the other kids in class. I also could read and write.

You might want to read Karl Popper’s “The Logic of Scientific Discovery” or perhaps Thomas Kuhn’s “The Structure of Scientific Revolutions”. I’m not saying these are the last word on the topic (and indeed, they don’t agree with each other), but you might learn something about what some good thinkers have said about science. “Most people’s understanding” isn’t necessarily reliable. What most people think about physics, for instance, is probably mostly wrong.
