Jack, Maher’s “most egregious” term WAS (It IS a term I despise, and wouldn’t even use in describing someone where many other accurate adjectives regarding low intellect are apt.), but it was on the stage of a privately owned theater, where people paid for tickets to get in. Limbaugh went on for four days on PUBLIC AIRWAVES, with actual slander, aimed at not just a woman, but ALL women who practice birth control, whether they can afford to pay for their own, or not.
A number of folks on certain “blogs” have experienced “private censorship”, while far more vile harassment hasn’t been “cut”.
Freedom of speech is critical, but doesn’t need to condone slander, treason, or libel. “Polite” society doesn’t exist much any more, and while “asides” are okay, sometimes some folks who deliberately engage in outright slurs, should think about, “regulating” themselves, out of simple “courtesy”.
LImbaugh has made a reputation, and his fortune, by ignoring this tenet.
