For respectability among the supervillain community, that goal should be connected to running counter to the law or even general societal norms – otherwise, you just come off as a loony.4. A few of us related the mesa and mothership to Devil’s Tower and the alien ship from Speilberg’s “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.”

Even that last panel was similar of the spaceship leaving Earth as the credits rolled in the movie.
