I saw a game where the goon went on the ice during a shift, dropped his stick and just started punching the oppositon’s star player. The NHL should allow the pinstripes to carry tasers to use on the goons when they become criminal in their behavior. That would de-goon some of them except the ones that like the pain.
In around 1870 the first “protective cups” were used in pro hockey. It’s around 1970 that helmets really made their way to stay in the NHL. It took men 100 years to understand that the brain too is important!
