Yeah, right, abandoning her for months at a time, that’s “trying” to be a good father.

Why should she even expect him to call? His track record shows that he’s about the most undependable parent who ever lived.

    Here’s the link to Annie 2003 .

I admit I am new to the strip, but “undependable”? Daddy always comes through in the end, doesn’t he? And this is Little Orphan Annie we’re talking about, she of the kind heart and the mean left hook. Never fear! The sun’ll come out, etc.

Hey, all – This was a tidbit buried in an article from the LA Times about the new Broadway production of ANNIE:

“Rabbit Hole Comics (run by Tribune Media Services, an affiliate of the owner of the Los Angeles Times) this month is introducing a new action-oriented “Annie” ebook series from artist Ted Slampyak and comic historian Jay Maeder."

Thanks, Bibliomike. I went to Rabbit Hole Comics and found out that they are publishing a reprint of some of the Annie stories that we read here on GoComics. Volume 1 will feature “Annie and the Phantom Commando” and “Annie and the Queen of the Martian Iguana” story arcs.

But it looks like it’s in eBook format and available only on iPhone and iPad.

“coming thru in the end” is not the same as being there every day. Good parenting includes being present. Your kid needs you there.
