How doers he know Tavion is the only Halfrican - American in his class? Most African Americans have some white ancestors. Interracial marriage is not exactly news, Desdemona and Othello, the Armada etc…..

Huh? What does the Armada have to do with it?

Many of the ships in the Spanish Armada never made it back to Spain. Some of the shipwrecked crews, many landing in Ireland, settled and married into the local population if they survived the mass slaughter at landing.. A large portion of the crews were Moors or other Dark-skinned people.

The Genetic contribution of these to the Irish population is very small, much less than the popular stories would indicate.

Oh c’mon, you coulda made ‘em look it up! Black Irish families usually know who they are. Names like Costello, one of my family names, are obviously traceable to Spain. The original people of Ireland, ironically, were drk haired and closest genetically to ancient Iberians. The African aspect of Black Irish, (the genetic predominance of which is: debatable, certainly not conclusively researched, and not relevant to my comment) is what I was referring to.
