@Susan-by this time Al Smith had been drawing the strip for many years even though it was still signed by Fisher. The artist looks old though, so maybe it is supposed to be Bud Fisher.
Are they breaking the “third wall,” or the fourth?
BTW, if they switch, do we call Mutt “Jeff,” and Jeff “Mutt?” I’m confused…
