    I actually agree with Harley on this one. Some people truly need welfare and those types of programs to get by until they are able to get on their feet. It’s the ones who abuse the system that Harley is talking about (and they are out there). I think there needs to be regular/surprise inspections on the people who receive these benefits to ensure they are not defrauding the system.

    Harley, the food stamp program is a subsidy for farmers and the food industry. The money spent by the poor to eat ends up in the hands of growers and sellers of food..they are the ones who get the money, the poor just get food…..

    Anybody on the right want to answer where that “food stamp” money ends up? Well, grocery stores, farmers, and ranchers know. It’s much more a “spiff”, just like corn for ethanol, and other farm subsidies going to corporate “farmers” than the poor.

    @writewing- Ok. I gotta ask. How can welfare credit cards be used in a casino? I thought they were for food??
