Shows what you know. Some of us pack weight on without eating much. I drink ONE soda and put on 5 pounds.

A form of sugar is stored in the liver. Quite a few things will cause this sugar to be released into the bloodstream, including the smell of food (such as walking past a bakery). If the sugar is not burned, it is converted into fat. The liver, being short of sugar, will release chemicals triggering hunger. Fat cells are not destroyed by exercise and dieting, they are merely emptied. An empty fat cell releases chemicals triggering hunger. The more fat weight you lose, the more empty fat cells, the more chemical and the stronger the hunger signals become. That’s why you can fight for weeks to lose a little weight, and it goes back on in a matter of days as the fat cells are replenished.

The problem with losing weight is that when you find it again, it has a few new friends with it.

It is genetics, I know someone who can eat an entire gallon of ice cream at a time with all the toppings and not gain anything. He thinks that to gain weight people have to pig out more than that. Ironically his cholesteral is sky high despite having a healthy body fat ratio.

Other people on the other hand have what is called the fat gene, the university of utah was doing some studies on it a few years ago to figure out how to turn it off. They proved it existed but they ran out of funding and the researched ended. Hopefully some day it will continue, in the meantime people with an active fat gene, the less they eat the more their body saves and even if they evercise and eat as much as a two year old they can’t lose any weight.
