From “Hug a hoodie” to “Mug a hoodie”(The 2nd link is not a paper I usually recommend or read, just needed the headline, which is being bandied about again today, a couple years later). So maybe hoisted on his own petard might be an accurate depiction after all. There is also growing rift developing with the local police. Politicians (the PM & the mayor of London) (sc)“hurrying” back from holiday 3 days later to quell the riots have ruffled the feathers (‘cos, as you know, they aren’t usually armed :-| ) of some Bobbies. Who have been severely criticised by everyone in turn. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Tch.
