That is mean – but he may think twice before he trashes her work plans again!

My mother used to pull this trick on me everytime there was sickness or death in the community.

Of course not, John. Elly made a healthy meal of tofu burgers covered with wheat germ, bean sprouts and barley with a glass of soy milk for you.

Wow, why do some of you make Elly out to be so mean? My first thought was the same as Rasczak or churchlady — it was for someone in need. I’m sure she can make the same dinner for her family next time.

I’m guessing this is dinner and dessert for the new parents for at least the next two nights.

Women outdo themselves when the food is for someone else.

When in my teens, I made extra loaves of bread and pies to take to the rectory (but did not even then neglect family). I now think it is great to share. I was just considering the idea of a food truck where I could help my youngest son (and myself) to earn while construction is not a “going business”. He is a licenced Surveyor and I have done construction design in CAD and both fields have faltered. We shared interests in cooking when he was young and I could do a lot of recipes and research to help him get started (and earn a little as well). I will look further into it and discuss it with him as soon as I can.
