Mom: ...and don't fret over finding a girlfriend, Brad. Just focus on being yourself. You have lots of good qualities. The right girl will come along soon enough, okay? Brad: 'K. Mom: Is everything else all right? How's school? how'd you do on your big math final? Brad: got a 97. Mom: A 97! That's great! now, when do you see your counselor to talk about college? Friday? Brad: yup. Mom: have you thought anymore about majors? Brad:No, not really. Dad: She sure is good at communicating with our kids.... Dad: She's so nurturing and concerned. I come off uncaring and out of touch. I need to join in more on these family discussions... Dad: so, Brad-how's that synthetic oil working out in your car?

They don’t talk much about his school work, beyond the eye rolling when Luann pretends to study.
