Population control would help a bit.

sighFighting the stereotype image Africa has is going to be an uphill struggle. The drought that is affecting East Africa (not the entire of Africa as the ‘toon portrays) is the worst in over 60 years War in Somalia is affecting distribution of emergency aid to the famine victims. War didn’t cause the drought. It was yet another factor undermining the ability of the local populations to manage the drought.Bear in mind which areas of the world will be most devastated by climatic changes, and those least prepared for it.Ensuring that the women are treated equally is another major battle to overcome on the continent but I understand this is a global issue, isn’t it? Combatiing misogyny with misandry is just, well, bigoted.AS Ulan mentions above, and I have repeatedly on this forum, education is a key element in uplifting standards on the continent. As I have also said before, the best one can do to assist Africa as a continent, is to provide fair trade and opportunity.

Simple or not, population is a HUGE factor. Granted, Somalia has an abominable political structure with demonic males ruling, and you can see how that is working. But looking at the bigger picture, we as a species are ruining our planet as fast as we can and it will soon no longer be able to sustain us.Then how will even the Koch Brothers be able to drink the poisoned water or eat food that won’t grow on parched land?

We have overextended ourselves in every way and I don’t see the educated people making a whole lot of difference in the coming disaster. We still drive cars. How many billions of us even breathe, for heavens sakes? It all takes a toll. I hate to be so negative but there is no way out. Where are you going to go?
