I remember one of those bottom of the ocean Boy Scout trips where Dad dug out and insisted I bring his Official Pup Tent from WWII. Heavy (really) duty canvas with a ventilated roof.Trustworthy, loyal thrifty, brave, helpful, courteous, kind, friendly . clean and reverent, and a couple of more adjectives. Wasn’t so reverent in my choice of words for Dad that night.

Well, Grady is up the creek without a paddle. It’s a warm summer day, hang the clothes to dry for an hour, while he hangs out in his tent in his skivvys.

Right, Allen! Then he’s got four more trips into the creek.

Or he could go into the creek in the manner in which God and nature intended him to go into the creek. His clothes would stay dry then….

No way to tell here. I write notes off and on all the time. They usually get pencilled in batches of 6 or 12, then inked another time to get the six I need for the week. Other jobs and responsibilities get wedged in between sessions.

Did Grady remember to tell his mom to pack his trunks? Or did he say he was a big boy and can do his own packing? Oh, Just Go Hang Those Things On The Bushes! And the rest of you campers – if you hide Grady’s clothes – make sure they’re dry when you stuff them in the Scout Master’s tent. (cause no one will look there – only adults allowed in there.)
