True—the Repubs drove the car into the ditch, send it through the metal shredder, then melted it down into a lump—now they act shocked (shocked I tell you) that it will cost a lot of money to turn it into a car again. And, oh my god, Obama took over 2-and-a-half years ago—are we still talking about that “driving it into a ditch/shred/melt” thing?
No matter which political party you support, you should be fed up with our Congress. Neither party really considered the needs of the America citizens while they almost brought our country to its knees. I believe it is time we forced them to take better care of the American people … instead only caring about themselves and their chances in the next election.I think it is time for term Limits … serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The founding fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so Congresspersons should serve no more than two terms, then go home and back to work.
actually it’s worse than that. Have you heard the expression, if you repeat a lie enough times it starts ringing true. well the Right wing media has this down to a science where they keep saying stuff like this and people like @Towerwarlock take it as gospel. I would like to say I can’t blame people like him but if one is not responsible for their own personal fact checking then who is ?
‘Are you one of those paid commenters there was the story about a few weeks ago?’ interesting, I feel the same way,but I thought it was just cynasism on my part. You have a link to the story?
Years ago after a divorce, my income did not cover expenses. I took a part time job or baby sat, my boys got jobs to cover much of their expenses, and we cut back on all grocery brands except for dog food as I was unable to convince the dog it was just as good. The government needs to be realistic and do the same. Cutting expenses is good, but increased revenue is just as important whether it is higher taxes for ALL, and closing tax loopholes and subsities.

The solution’s really simple: end corporate welfare. Companies aren’t hiring anyway, so now’s the time.

The second hand smoke ‘O’ would like. He’s probably craving a cig these days.
