What’s next? Maybe if some guy loves his dog enough, he should be able to get married to it? Whether we want to admit it or not, we have crossed a line with this legalization of same-sex marriages, and from now on there is no logical place to say what is acceptable and what is not.

One would think the wingnuts would be delighted that there still are people who actually want to be married.

You people say the government shouldn’t tell you what kind of light bulb to use.The government should, however, tell you which consenting adult to marry?

O’Hara, guys w/ our lineage shouldn’t Preach. WE might have a few "Baaah"d skeletons in our Familial “Closets”. God says have tolerance, and the bill of rights should cover everything else!

And Love, like Justice, is “blind” ( and maybe a little deaf to, w/ any luck.). And the economic benifits to the Country is not to be laughed at. Peace !

Ok, I understand what you are saying, but why does it have to be two consenting adults? Or as another commenter put it, multiple people? Why can’t it be with a dog? There may be people who love their dog and their dog loves them, what’s wrong with them doing “it” if they both like it, and being “married”?The biggest reasons I hear put forth for gay marriage is that they are people in a committed relationship, who love each other, enjoy their relationship with each other, and so thus should be able to be married just like a heterosexual couple. If these are the biggest reasons, then there is no reason why it cannot be just as fine to spread the love amongst multiple partners, or non-human partners. So long as they both like it, and are willing to make a commitment to stay together, then let them marry. The reasons I see for only sanctioning monogamous, heterosexual marriage are these: First, a man and a woman can bear children, a very necessary part of our culture! lol Gay marriage cannot do this without a test tube and then even questionable at best. Second, men and women are made differently. These children need a balanced home to grow up in, to learn to identify with and respect the opposite gender. There are strengths and weaknesses in both men and women and we can use them to make us better people if we want. Third, (I’ll keep this one to myself as it is a moral one and we all know where that one would go! :-)Is marriage, as many people know it, a good, wholesome, relationship that builds up the people who are in it? No! I agree that marriage for many is not that. But the mold isn’t broken, just the people who are in it. I have been married for 11 years to my first and only wife, and we have had our bouts of bickering, arguments, and discord! It takes HARD work to make a marriage successful, but it can be done if we are willing to work together and sacrifice some of the things that are important to me for the betterment of us together! Sorry, didn’t mean to get so long winded here, but I didn’t know how to explain myself in any less words.

The whole argument is because Noah got more than just a “peek” from his son, more of a poke. Ah, it’s in the translations.

FWIW, I disagree with beastiality completely, I’m just trying to make a point here that we’ve crossed a biological line here and now that we have, how far are we going to go?

The question is not whether a same-sex relationship is acceptable in our society or not, it’s the calling of it a “marriage” which is traditionally the vows taken between a man and a woman.

The pertinent phrase is ‘Consenting Adults’. Maybe in your degenerate brain a 16 year old girl is a consenting adult, but the law does not believe that is the case.

Some people just like to tell others what do, others are probably afraid if they see it, it might tempt them…

the problem, constitutionally and rabid religious wingnutz is the word marriage.

    get over it.

hetero couples have been given SPECIAL RIGHTS by the gov’t (and there is a constitutional problem with the govt recognizing a clergy marriage, imho – it violates the establishment clause).

Hetero couples should have their special governemnt rights STRIPPED from them, and if they want them back, they should have to register as domestic partners.

Who should be able to get those rights? ANY COUPLE WHO WANT TO LIVE TOGETHER AND BENEFIT FROM THOSE RIGHTS.

and i don’t care if it’s brother and sister, or mother and daughter, etc…..

why the hell should the governemnt or any of us clowns tell a couple that is making a household and wants those rights, they can’t have them?

irish eddie over there, just can’t get over the word ‘marriage’.

and why use marriage – because it’s the simplest least messy way to fix something that needed fixing for a long time.

the BIGOTS like eddie got their rights, and they want to make sure other couples don’t get theirs.

    standard exclusionary politics.
