I don’t know where they are supposed to be living, but it sounds like it would be closer to go east. I’ve swam in the Atlantic, Pacific, Carribean, Gulf of Mexico and the South China Sea. Water is water. Maybe one has better waves, but for a beginner surfer that isn’t important!
