Recommendation: Mow your yard every two weeks from May to October (your part of the country may vary). That’s what I have been doing for the last 29 years. Because the more you put it off week by week, the easier it is to have snakes hiding in your grass, no matter where you live.
I live in southeast Virginia. If I waited 2 weeks to mow, I’d never get through it. If I’m lucky once a week. If not, every 5 days.Last winter was the first in a long time that I didn’t have to mow at all in December, January or February.

We aren’t exactly prosperous, but it’s worth the $15 a week to have someone come in and do it for us.
