Calvin: I don't understand how Santa runs his operation. How can he afford to give toys away? How does he pay for the raw materials he uses to make the toys? How does he pay his elves? There's no income to cover his costs. How does he do it? Hobbes: Dificit spending. I guess. Calvin: Sure, but sooner or later it's going to catch up to him, and then where will I be?!

Where I come from (Iceland), there are 13 Santa Clauses and they were thieves and hooligans that came down from the mountain at Christmas, so I figured they must have stolen the toys…
For example: the Santa “Kjötkrókur, Lit. Meathook” would steal all your meat, and “Skyrgámur, Lit. Skyr Gobbler” would steal all your skyr…
Now that I think about it they had some pretty brutal names :/
And if you don’t know what skyr is, it’s pretty much the same as yogurt but thicker and less sugar I think.

Honestly I think Calvin is one of the smartest kids around but he still cant do any math. Seriously, Calvin knows and worries about real world problems that most kids his age wouldn’t understand.

Santa’s operation is supported by government funding. I heard he designs weapons for them part-time :)
