Back in the 60s, the Boy Scouts taught me to use a map and compass, like folk had for 5,000 years before me. Won’t, direct me to the nearest McFatBurger, but it will get me cross forest or cross the Nation. Course all that walking doesn’t allow you to put on much weight, but I’m sure they will make an electronic gizmo that will fix that.

The GPS units are good enough to land an airplane ON the runway. But you aren’t supposed to use them for that in case the thing fails at the last minute and you’d be ‘up a creek without a paddle’ as it were. But the dead give-away that you are in fact using it for that purpose is that you are flying the approach TOO PERFECTLY!

Now if the king had HIM in his army, things would go a lot better for the king. For a while.

Perfect example of why you should join the Boy Scouts instead of the army. Boy Scouts have adult leadership.

Wow, Hagar is a blast from the past! I’d forgotten all about him. Now that’s just lame. He made me laugh more than most comics at the time.

If you’re looking for Hagar, he’s also over at http://www.arcamax.com/thefunnies/hagarthehorrible/along with a lot of the other King Features strips. At least for the moment (there are ominous announcements of coming “improvements”) the site is fairly simple and quick to load.

We should get Beetle Bailey too. And maybe Family Circus. (For the very small group of people here who like it.)
