My dad made some beautiful little things out of peach pits. He didn’t try to sculpt them, he carved pieces of wood into animal shapes and used the pits to emphasize the round part of that particular animal. i still have some of them.
The Mad Magazine spinoff “Popular Scientific Mechanics” featured an article about a family suffering acute pellagra after building a home entirely out of peach pits. (Yeah, but I’m a killer at "Trivial Pursuit!)

It is tough to ‘make something out of nothing’ when all you have to work with is a peach pit.

Doing it yourself is a dying art. Everybody wants it ready-built.
