The American Revolution was the ONLY revolution which was NOT betrayed by its own leadership. For that we have George Washington to thank. King George III recognized it at the time. “If he can do that (resign power voluntarily) he will be the greatest man in the world!”

@ pavlov - made a good point. Looks like we have a hard time evolving decently beyond the brain stem. Perhaps the building of castles was our peak?
