2006 is when the democrats took over the house and senate.

Yes, warrior - but it didn’t change fiscal discipline (or lack thereof) much. It was Bush’s idea to combine wars and tax cuts and bleeep the deficit, remember?

You may of forgot that the house and senate had to approve both wars. They did. The democrats had the numbers to stop it, they did not.

warrior, the Democrats achieved a majority in the House in 2007, not 2006. The Democrats achieved a so-called majority in the Senate only by including two independents, including Lieberman.

The vote to authorize funding for actions (I don’t believe a war was authorized) in Iraq took place long before the Democrats achieved a majority in the House.

You might want to work on getting your facts straight. Or perhaps you “may of forgot” the facts.

Dr. C, I don’t think much of your political bias but I love your sense of humor.

Regardless of 2006 or 2007. The Republicans never had 60 senate votes during the Bush years. So the democrats could of filibustered anything they wanted to and they did.

senor, checked your clip out but actually found this on wiki:

The chorus of the song was sampled from the Stanley Kubrick film Full Metal Jacket. In the movie, UK actress Papillon Soo Soo, credited as “Da Nang Hooker” speaks the lines: Hey baby, you got girlfriend Vietnam? Me so horny. Me love you long time.

Full Metal Jacket preceded the 2LiveCrew song by two years! (so what’s my prize, huh?) ;-D

8 years of Republican rule shows that you wont find them in there.

Yes, but that’s a much more Republican way of governing. If you don’t like it, don’t try to compromise, just try to kill it. Filibuster! Filibuster! Filibuster!

Warrior 77 said “You may of forgot that the house and senate had to approve both wars. They did. The democrats had the numbers to stop it, they did not.”

So you’re looking to the Democrats to stop something that your elected Republicans voted on doing? Even if they did stop them with the votes the Republicans threatened to use Reconciliation so the war would have gone on, with or without the Democratic vote.

The liberal posters including d_legendary and cdward are complaining about the war. I am just stating the Democrats could of stopped it. They stopped numerous other things. How many judges did not get appointed or even get confirmed or denied? How many bills did the democrats filibuster? The democrats were on the media in the filibuster mood at all times. So if you want to complain go to them, but you cannot because they voted for and approved the war.
