    It’s already historic that a black guy runs so even if he looses, it will still be historic. Will white people riot? No. Why would black people? The Rodney King riots were 16 years ago.

    A good deal of them are french-canadian…read about the Maurice Richard riots of 1955. All that for a hockey player, but it unleashed all the frustrations the french-canadian majority (back then called canadiens, like the team) had against the WASP establishment.

    Plus, there were small riots last august in a predominently haitian neighborhood of Montreal. They revolted against racial profiling made by the cops.

    Of course, last summer was nothing compared to the Rodney King riots. For anything that comes close to that, you have to get to Montreal when the Habs wi the Stanley Cup! (check 1993)
