Stew - which one? The economic conservative party? Or the socially conservative one? It’s becoming more and more evident that they are not one and the same. The evidence of this is in massive support for Obama in the Northeast and Pacific (with strong crossover by republicans) - the seat of economic conservatism, and the massive support for McCain in the Mountain and Southern states where social conservatism is the driving force.
This is an honest question as to your POV on how the Republican party can reassemble itself from groups with fundamentally differing agendas.

Do you like Howard Stern? He did a man on the street and reported that black people did not care anything about Obama, like the person asked though Obama was pro-life (cough cough) and had Sarah running as VP. Just did not care.

Last night on NBC Nightly, Chuck Todd presented a countywide map of the results. He stated that no one group was entirely responsible for the Obama win - young, old, pan-racial.
The media was in the tank for Obama, I would not believe a thing from any of their mouths. EVERYONE is claiming the young voters are the ones that put him over the edge. This was my point. Of course all kinds voted for him, that was a pointless comment.
As well another liberal with a more personal attack. Surprising mild to most I will say, but still the same.

traditionally the young are for the liberal party until they hit their thirties and have a house,good job,something to cling to,then they shift to Conservative or libertarian. personally i didn’t care at all about politics until i turned 30(in May).i favored anarchy.
At 30, you know what persons beyond your time of existence think? I am 80 yrs, been an Independent thinker, brought up that way, an Ind. voter, Rep. voter and Dem voter, Depending upon the issues, person and the times. Look at the real demographics of this last election, and see how your philosophy of age related to the population holds up.

DH wasn’t saying i am a philosopher, just saying that i only recently began to show any interest in politics. the hope chest always seemed empty to me that’s why i was anarchist. i like to think I’ve grown a little but probably not much.

Republicans lost 2 elections (2006 and 2008) in a row and you call this dieing off? I call it people actually starting to believe in the failing media. You know CNN, MSNBC and now and again Fox News, not to mention ABC, CBS and NBC slamming and lying about republicans. Lying about the progress of THEIR Vietnam saying that we are loosing and there is no hope. Boldly blaming high gas prices on Exxon and such, when they make a WHOPPING 18 cents per gallon last I heard. Lets say they cut their profit in half and the current price goes from 2.20 a gallon to 2.11, not enough for me to care especially when it was 4.29 would be 4.20, just does not make enough difference. Then your Gov gets 30 - 50 cents a gallon and I would but my life that Obama WILL raise this, after all he wants gas to be $5.00 gallon. I know Bush has failed us these past 4 years, but not the Republicans. Bush the past 4 has been far more liberal then conservative.
Member when you have less money due to taxes, it is now a Democrat you can thank. Example, Chicago, highest city tax in US, highest murder rate and highest deficit. ALL democrats!
Further more I am done with complaining, and bickering about Obama, I said what I feel I need. Now it is time sit back and let what happens, happen. Pray for him and the country and know we are protected 1 way or another, cause there is 1 thing no one can take and that is free will!
