I’ve been gone for a few days and Emoka a few days back mentioned a gupta. What the heck is a gupta?? Something to do with a duck? Help me out here, please!! Thanks!

Susie, I wondered about that “gupta” thing too. I thought maybe it was a Scandinavian pudding until I found this—which doesn’t have anything to do with important duck stuff….

-a dynasty of N India (a.d. 320–540) whose court was the center of classical Indian art and literature.
-the empire of this dynasty, encompassing all of N India and Gujarat.
Terrence, no! Don’t give up! I was only first because I was inspired by your work. I don’t think you realise the positive impact you’ve had on others. It’s easy to concentrate on just the negative criticisms but remember the good you’ve inspired as well.
As for ‘gupta’, grazer’s definition is the only one I could find as well.

I haven’t seen that sort of sportsmanship since the Green Bay offensive line let Michael Strahan through unabated to sack Brett Favre to break the NFL sacks record and regrettably make a mockery of stat keeping at the same time.
An inflamed gupta ia an affliction caused by losers with no life whose highest purpose of their pathetic existence is to set the alarm clock in the middle of the night so that they can be the first ones to post comments about a comic strip.
Oh, Emoka, if your note had come but four hours earlier I’m sure I would have agreed.
But I’ve come to find that I can live in a world where some people don’t try to make themselves feel better by hurting other people’s feelings. Doctortoon and McGuffin showed me that.
I know your lashing out because of your own issues and you couldn’t possibly endeavor to pretend to know me via a comment board on a great new comic strip.
So I’ll say a prayer for you tonight. You are a good person. You have the capacity to be good, I can see it.
And you can call me names and my bones may be turned to ash by the sands of time, but you can never take away the fact that I was the first commenter on this cartoon. Never.
