^ Brazil nowadays loans money to the IMF < - Clique aqui

”Brazil says it is to offer $10bn in financing to the IMF to help improve the availability of credit in developing countries”

It repaid its 2002 loans from the IMF 2 years early in 2007.

In 2016, when the Olympics rolls into Rio, Brazil should be the 5th largest economy, presently it is the…9th?

Now, I know President Lula bragged his government had repaid its foreign debt completely in 2008, turning from a debtor nation to a creditor nation for the first time ever and I know he didn’t quite tell the whole tale but what sources do you have that state Brazil is deeply in debt?

Meanwhile, China…ahem. How much of your cash does it hold? And is it considered a debt? Will they be keeping the door closed when you go knocking on their door? Sorry, I’m being mean. :-( I must really stop doing that. I apologise for my meanspiritness. Britain has the London games and my council tax is going to rise to help pay for it. :p grumbles
