Pay the fine!

It’s either the end of the month or the officer’s having a bad day.

I’m routinely passed by police cars when I do just the speed limit or roll through stop signs. How come we can’t give them tickets?

So let’s see. You’re doing the limit. You’re passed by a cop, so he must be doing more than the limit. You speed up to catch him, therefore going way, way, way more than the limit. And you expect that when you finally do catch him, he’ll be the one to get the ticket?

Wenthral, your experience reminds of the episode in The Andy Griffith Show where Barney makes a u-turn in front of station and he has Gomer Pyle chasing him yelling, “Citizens’ arrest”.

Go take the safe driving course. You’ll get a discount on your auto insurance for 3 years. That more than makes up for the speeding fine and the course fee. That’s what I did.

Wenthral, if it bothers you that much, call in to the PD complaint line. Just have the Car number, date, time, and location for when this happens so that it can be investigated. Then ask for public records section to see if there were any major crimes reported in that area around that same time. Major crimes being a threat to life and/or property that can be interupted or the suspect immediately aprehended.

I remember talking with my co-worker about this. He said it wasn’t a law. Can’t remember the term he used, but something like “recommended” though it could have been “suggestion”
