Basque separatist terror group, operates primarily in Spain.

Briefly suspected of being behind the Madrid train bombings. which were later revealed to be the work of al-Qaeda. When the Madrid government tried to push the flasehood that the bombings WERE the work of ETA, and got caught, it led to change of governemtns in the next round of Spanish elections.

Not by itself, to be sure, but it was at least a contibuting factor.

It’s a shame that they only seem to be remembered for the Madrid fiasco. (and Oldie) Conflict has been going on in the Basque region for ages. ETA has been killing people for longer than Al- Qaeda has been in business.

No one here said anything of the sort sat. What pushed your faux button?

Gladius: The cartoon did. The handshake implies a deal being struck…

Not entirely sure what Tayo was trying to put across in the cartoon except perhaps to say ETA is back in the same business as Al Qa’ida since the two groups have nothing in common idealogically.

It’s just that this toon has been up for days. Also, I’m not sure that Fox has much of a viewer base in Nigeria. It was the faux news comment that I was wondering about.
