@ Churchill - I think beheading videos were shown at least once or twice on TV here. I’m pretty sure they were shown somewhere. They are definitely on the net. I’m not sure it was al-queda exacty - since it’s an unofficial network, anyone can claim or deny affiliation. In general, if they torture, maim or kill a captive, I don’t much care what their opinion on the 3rd decree of Osama on wearing blue is.

churchillwasright states “I’ve seen the pics from Abu Ghraib”

Are these the ones Obama won’t release since it deals with children?

Thousands of kids decapitated by “shock and awe” are more atrocities than a small handful of combat troops and a couple reporters oft repeated on the air, and in blogs, for propaganda purposes.(by both sides) Children in their beds are not a combat troop, or a member of the press who put himself at risk, for a story that he became.

striper77 asked Dr. Canuck “What would Canada do in a major war without America?”

As if a major war without America involved would happen! And why would China or India attack Canada… they are buying the cr@p made in those countries, so why invade the consumers?

What would Canada do in a war?

We’re smart enough to stay out of them. Invasions don’t just happen, not in this day and age.

Even before WWII there were major warning signs

*sits down with a freshly brewed coffee, sun rising above the Alpine mountains, cows lowing in the field next door, feet up. It’s a North American showdown! My money’s on the Canadian.

Fennec (I think?) suggested this excellent book which I’ve just finished reading whilst on my hols.

Church: Please book out “Lies my teacher told me” by James W. Loewen from your local library or do what I did: ordered it via Amazon.

It confirmed my belief in how history is taught not only in the USA, but my own birth country as well as my mother country. I dare say it is common to most countries.

Drop the nationalism and start thinking for yourself without the nationalist baggage and the belief in that the US is the International Good guy your history lessons and Hollywood have taught you.

    Dr C wins.

    Church: Oh yes, please!

However, peachy, hmm, wasn’t the peach originally a Chinese fruit? Are you trying to advocate a Chinese one world government?

By the way, seeing as we’re on a comics website, I suppose no-one minds if I bring up Star Trek. It pretty much covered a one world government for Earth in its United Federation of Planets. (No, not a trekkie myself)
