Chinese EV sales are beating out Tesla – in China, and even there only recently. No surprise with Chinese government control over sales and manufacturing in that country.
Not much of a concern in the U.S. market. Chinese cars exported to the U.S. have to meet U.S. safety standards, and no Chinese automaker has a dealership network or arrangement in the U.S. BYD says it has no plans to sell cars in the U.S.
The main thing that Chinese EV manufacturers have going for them in the U.S. is the odd hate that some Americans spout at Tesla… one might think that Americans would love an American company – particularly one that is disrupting the status quo and carving out a new niche…
