I lived in a former firehouse. The place for the trucks was turned into a hardware store. The firefighters’ accommodations were turned into 3 apartments.One night, after an extra bit of libations at a local bar, I stumbled into my bathroom and heard some noise … just faint, but it was coming from the wall beside the bathtub. I sat on the side of the tub, facing the wall, and I could visualize rodents (rats, I found out later) scurrying inside the wall … back and forth on the spacers.I told my landlord. He set out traps and poison in the basement, and less than a week later told me that he had eliminated 3 good-sized rats. He must have left more stuff out for them, because I never heard a sound again.
