More than 20 innocent Palestinians horribly killed for every Israeli killed by Hamas! Israel has not announced how many Hamas have been killed, though I’m sure they have kill some.
Well the Gaza Palestinians pushed Israel to their breaking point. You reap what you sow. Have no pity for them, just as I have no pity for 1940s Germany and Japan.
2 Israeli Cabinet Ministers want all Palestinians out of Gaza so they can have the land for their own people. They feel the Palestinians should immigrate to other countries…in other words…ethnic cleansing! I think it is time for us, the US to reconsider our support for Israel.
Yeah, there’s been a lot of dithering over this issue, for years. America has abided it and Netanyahu has exploited it. Biden is the latest in a long line of presidents willing to go along instead of confronting Israel and the apartheid they’ve created.
Funny. We look back on Vietnam and say, “Okay, lesson learned. A mighty nation cannot occupy and defeat a determined people willing to fight a protracted, asymmetrical war.” Only we don’t learn, so we repeat the mistake, first in Iraq then in Afghanistan. Israel, the most powerful nation in the Middle East, doesn’t seem to understand this, either.
I’m not apologizing for Hamas in any way. They’re terrorists who deserve no quarter. But Bibi used their presence to bolster his own power, and the nation itself keeps Palestinians repressed. Keeping things in-between a one- and-two state solution, unresolved, is where they want to be. But it is untenable.
The United States needs to take a side (I prefer pro-Palestine) and insist upon change. The only answer is a separate Palestinian state, and then help them deal with internal issues and weaknesses.
I assume Bibi is hoping to hang on to power, until Trump is inaugurated in 12 months. Then, it won’t matter what American kids think about apartheid or genocide.
The reality is, most Israelis want nothing to do with occupying & settling Gaza. No nation is willing to accept Gazan refugees. You & Ben Gvir are both ignoring political facts. This looks like your typical preference of letting worst case scenarios happen, in the hope that a populist uprising will result in something besides Napoleon or Stalin.
Seems to me that the position of this administration has been consistent: Support Israel, but working hard to stop Netanyahoo from genocide. Netanyahoo has to keep destroying Gaza to hide from his criminal investigations and try to get people to ignore the security breaches that allowed the Hamas attack in the first place. According to the GOP this is all Biden’s fault because ………….buffering ……. buffering…….buffering…Impeach!
And then we have that loaded Chinese container ship that “accidently” dragged its anchor for 20 miles or so, cutting a gas pipleline and wrecking a lot of other Baltic Sea seabed hardware.
Amazing that the crew didn’t notice what was happening even with all the warning klaxons and bells that would have told the captain and watch-standers that “you’re dragging your gottverdammte anchor and wrecking things on the seabed”

Biden pressured for the first pause in the fighting, and has since.
