Re: the last panel: I watch a lot of “legacy” TV — shows from the 50s and 60s. Knowing these shows so well, I am appalled at the number/length of advertising breaks. It’s as though the stations are saying “the slobs” will watch whatever we throw up there, even if it’s only half a program or less. It’s the height of cynicism but, I fear, not the height of greed. I don’t think we’ve reached that particular pinnacle yet. shudder.
