I lived in the City in the 90s. Parking was next to impossible most of the time. There was a Muni line 2 blocks away and a small market at the corner. Left my car parked in the carport at home and only used it for day trips to the wine country. Saved a fortune on gas.

Park the car way outside and take BART into the city.
