outside the big cities (and even in some areas of the big cities) japan is still a third world country and folks in our rural area think nothing of chucking their plastic bag full of stuff they bought at the convenience store out the car window as they speed down the highway. or just throwing it in the bushes in the back yard. fighting plastic pollution is a losing battle…
