It’s about the money, and of late religous beliefs and maybe a little political leanings. BUT they’ll police themselves.

Republicans all trust the Republican Supreme Court.

The Justices have proved over and over that they are willing and eager to be bribed. Republicans have admired corruption for a long time. Why should the Supremes be any different.

Citizens United. Now we know why the Court decided it should be legal to bribe Congressmen. Because they thought it should be legal to bribe judges.

Under the system of checks and balances we supposedly have, a whole branch of the government ought not be able to regulate itself with no input from the other two. 1. the court desperately needs a binding code of conduct like other judges, and 2. I don’t like term limits in general, but with people routinely living way beyond the limited life expectancy of the 1780s, there should be 18-year terms so each president can choose his/her own. Most other countries do it like that.

Thats only because people haven’t been paying attention. It always should have been this low or lower. When I was in law school, I became appalled with the Supreme Court after I learned about its informal processes that lower courts would never be allowed to do, ego driven decision-making and lack of accountability and oversight. There is very little to respect about it.

Hmmm. NO Republicans commenting about how great the Supremes are.

Not even an indirect It’s OKAY If A Republican Does It.

Not just the Supreme Court. Congress, cops, politicians in general, bankers, corporations, regulatory agencies (or, more accurately, de-regulatory agencies), the legal system, etc. The structures of civilization are losing all legitimacy.
