I started making excuses to not bring you along...I didn't want to be seen in public with you...maybe someday I'll be ready to try again...BUT for a long, long time I don't want you or any of your kind near me!!! If this was the first Cathy strip someone read, or even if they’ve read others, but not very long/very many, they’d think this was the end of a toxic relationship (either friend, family, colleague, or romantic). But to me, who has read Cathy and numerous other series in print and pixel, I knew early on that this Sunday would be about some sort of inanimate object. And… [makes a popping sound with his lips to signify non-surprise] yup.
Still funny, though!
