The fact that this happens in the US and NOWHERE ELSE (to this extent) should be ample proof that we’re doing something wrong/bad/crazy. I’m not able to prove that it’s the easy access to firearms, but I’d be willing to bet that someday it WILL be proven that’s the case. Unless we all die first.
The other likely causative factor: Severe inequality between the “haves” and the shooters (as they perceive it). Fix that and the guns would be less likely to kill (except suicides).
In the case of the six-year-old who shot his teacher, the school authorities were warned three times he had the gun and did nothing. https://apnews.com/article/newport-news-school-shooting-a40dfad64388aadf1f90211177412522
Яepublican politicians know that the NRA can make or break their election chances so even though a large majority of Americans want better gun control, the Яepubs not only support the NRA and gun manufacturers but cynically use the whole issue as another wedge issue. I’m afraid the situation will only get worse: our shamelessly corrupt ECOTUS (Extreme Court of the United States) will no doubt rule that states cannot prevent six year-olds from carrying handguns.

Once upon a time, the NRA was an organization that taught gun safety and responsibility. Now they’re just shills for gun manufacturers.

Well, the Right always said their colors don’t run – And they’re correct – they ooze, drip and coagulate, however…
