Feed them, play with them, clean up for them, praise them, cuddle with them and you will never have a high blood pressure issue. Bonus, if they sleep on your bed, you will never have a cold winter night.
I don’t think I have ever met a dog who only slept 14 hours a day. The golden I had here for several days sleeps about 23 hours a day and she’s only 6. My 12 year old beagle has way more energy , but the walks we take daily might be a factor. Beagles are bred for endurance anyway.
