Excellent political cartoon. For weeks watching tv has been virtually impossible do to incessant and inane political cartoons by both parties and all the candidates
In my perfect world, campaign commercials and posters would not be allowed. Each candidate would simply submit their responses to a predetermined set of questions about the issues. They could video-record those answers as well, for those who have difficulty reading print — but other than that, there would be no campaigning. I know people would scream about freedom of speech, but all rights are and ought to be regulated to some extent, and paid speech needs to be more carefully regulated (IMO). And of course, I would never regulate the actual political arguments being made (though threats and incitements to violence should be stamped out entirely).
Kelley and I have the same dream. Which is astounding. We have coped by re-learning where the mute button is on the glass tit… and hanging up immediately if, after we pick up the phone, there’s a “mechanical sounding” pause. Or as soon as a recording of any kind comes on except we recognize the voice of the under-sheriff who records the weather (or other) alerts that get phone-blasted to the whole area. If an actual person speaks, they have about 10 seconds (that’s two sentences) to convince me to stay on the line. We also have quite tolerably accurate spam detection on our emails. I’d guess that about 1 in 20 gets more than a moment of attention. More if Spouse has left the TV on while taking a break from watching, since I can’t reach the mute button without more (it’s slight) effort than it’s worth.
In Illinois, every commercial is “so and so is too extreme. They are pro-life”. Well, they don’t come right out and say that, instead they dance around and say “he or she won’t protect women’s healthcare”. What about the future “women” that the lady is carrying? Does that woman deserve healthcare protection too?

I voted nearly 2 weeks ago, so I agree, I should be spared the incessant lying political ads.

The intended target is not voters, campaign commercials are simply a legal way to buy/bribe favorable media.

Here’s an interesting bit of news:
Democrat blows whistle on election fraud in Florida, claims to have evidence of illegal ballot harvesting and tampering over the last 20 YEARS!

According to this whistleblower, for at least the last 20 years Democrats in Orlando, Florida have illegally harvested ballots and even changed votes.

And there ought to be a limited number of months before election that any campaigns could begin. No more two-year-long campaigning.
