This is actually tomorrow’s strip. What happened to the October 20 strip? Maybe Jay and Alan took the day off. Looking through my archives, I don’t have it either. I guess the thing to do is read this one two days in a row.
If we’re going to see the strip twice, how about someone posting alternative dialog for it? Perhaps discussing the cost of cigars in Ratznestistan (or however it’s spelled)?
I dont remember the FBI radio program. I do recall The Inner Sanctum. I think that was more scary than any program on T.V. today. There were other good ones like the Shadow and the Green Hornet. Man am I getting old or what.
Well, you’re all making me feel young. I don’t have any memories of the Radio Era. But I do remember our first TV in the early 50s. It was a black and white stand-up Philco with a wooden case. It got two channels. We watched Lone Ranger, Cisco Kid, Burns and Allen, and Red Skelton.
On the radio in the 40s and 50s I listened to The Lone Ranger, Gunsmoke, Amos and Andy, Little Orphan Annie, Let’s Pretend, The FBI in Peace and War, the list goes on and on. I loved those old radio programs.
there are many radio stations that still play old-time radio. it may not be as easy to find as it used to be on an AM transmitter radio, but they’re out there!
As you can see I was really fond of radio shows. I count myself lucky to have been born in a time when radio shows and comic strips were in their Golden Age.

How about Our Miss Brooks … which is where Richard Crenna (sp?) got his start.
