We took our nine year old tonkinese in for a routine teeth cleaning a few years ago. The anesthesia caused him a stroke. We rushed him to a hospital. They kept him for almost a week for observation. He ended up recovering on his own once we got him home. It still ended up costing me $6,000.
I just considered myself fortunate enough to be able to afford that. He’s still with us and full of purrs and lots of lovens!
One of my cats, Vivekat, enjoyed the vet experience so much that she would not stop purring. To listen to her heart, the vet had to put her on one of those old-fashioned wobbly scales. After the examination, she jumped off the table and casually examined the whole room.

Mitty needs to appreciate the second mortgage required to pay for a cat’s dental cleaning. But he gets a nice nap.
