Does the United Nations organisation still exist? Has the General Secretary ever called the general assembly together to reassert the declaration that Ukraine and Taiwan are sovereign, independent nations? Perhaps rally some support to show Putin and Xi that the world at large won’t stand for the old land-grab ways of the past? Wasn’t the Second World War enough?
I’m a pretty much hard core conservative Republican, but I backed Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan 100%.
The “One China” was adopted way back when there was the optimistic hope that China would evolve away from it’s tyrannical communist regime and grow into a more democratic republic. At this point such hopes have been eliminated. The USA and other free nations of the world should recognize Taiwan as an independent, sovereign nation.
