    Howdy Vagabonds

Wet morning out there, about 58. The weather people say rain till the afternoon, high 63. Cool man. (^.^)

I would like to recommend a movie, the title dose not do it justice. “Curse of the Living Corpse” in living Black and White, staring Roy Scheider, yes, the “Jaws” guy. After doing TV including tree soap operas this was Roy’s first movie. I saw it back in the sixties at the Burns Theater in Newport. OK, it’s a better movie then the title makes it sound, basically the patriarch of the Sinclair family has died and in his will he has threatened the family with horrible deaths. Standard ghost story, but I liked the acting and the way the story unfolded. Now I got to pull the disc out a watch it again.

A blessed day to all y’all and may God walk beside you.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

It turns out that Michael does have neuropathy in both feet, but not “systemic” so it shouldn’t progress beyond his feet and it’s not painful, just tingly and annoying. He also has mild carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands, but not bad enough to require surgery. Other than that, he’s healthy and most of his “problems” are simply from aging. As we were leaving he said to me “I hate being told that I’m getting old.”

I head back to the cancer center to see my radiation oncologist. All three of the docs see me once every six months and they have managed to time it so that I see one of them about every two months. The good news is that I expect nothing out of the ordinary today.

We got the webbing and cords to repair Michael’s patio chair delivered yesterday. Now we get to add that to the “what shall we procrastinate about now?” list. The list already has the shelves we want to put up in the spare room, my hobbies, Michael’s model train….

Rita, when we moved into this place, it had belonged to an elderly, fairly feeble man. There are 3 wall mounted grab bars in the master bathtub and two in the “throne room”. I find that they come in handy already.

We got up to 107 on the patio yesterday afternoon. Today’s forecast is for “only” 100. It looks as if we’ll be in the high 90’s to low 100’s for the next 10 days or so. Ah well, it is August after all. Here’s to looking forward to September and the start of the fall weather. It’s my favorite time of the year – better temps and no pollen.

Everyone have a safe and blessed day.
