Wakes are created when boats travel fast. In a no wake zone, you need to reduce speed so you create no wake with your boat. The canoeists and kayakers will appreciate it but I am sure there are other reasons for the no wake zones (breeding grounds, fragile sealife)

In nautical terms, what is a wake zone? (Sure isn’t easy to be physically awake during a sermon on spiritual matters.)
