Let’s face facts for a moment however. Until 1997 Hong Kong was a British colony with a governor appointed by Great Britain. It was even less democratic than now. Hong Kong has never known democracy. When the British gave it up and back to China, HK only got to be a Special Admistrative Region of China with its own set of laws until 2046, and the ability to elect local representatives. That was already a big jump, although clearly not real independence from China but only fools would have believed so. Even though the chief executive is Beijing’s puppet, the fact is that HK has never had as much democracy as now. Once again, it’s flawed and very little, but it is to put things in perspective because new generations who complain against China and ask England’s help are some kind of imbeciles who don’t know their own history.

Republicans HATE democracy and are doing everything they can to destroy it in America.

I stand both young and old
But the winds of time blow cold.
This much you must believe:
It pains to see you grieve.
I pity you,
But there is nothing that I can do
For the seagulls, they have gone,
The seagulls, they have gone.
